Sony Press Conference

Sony is a classy company and started the press event with a classical violinist Joshua Bell - a Sony recording artist. They wanted to show their unique position as a top consumer electronics company as well as an owner of top notch content.

In contrast to Panasonic Sony's hot new tvs are based on LCD technology.

PS3 shipped 1 million units in 2006. No numbers on injuries from frantic shoppers fighting over the games machine.

The item they seemed most excited about is a Bravia Internet System Module. Allows users to receive content over the internet without a PC in HD. The coolest part is the ability to get free data like weather and news on the screen via RSS. Not free is the module or the new Bravia you'll need to buy when it's for sale in the Spring. Sony loves the propriety technologies don't they?
